Liquid Bread Improver in your baking process
GB Plange wishes to co-operate closely with customers in the improvement of their production processes. The development of Megapan® is a good illustration of how we can assist our customers. Megapan® offers the bakery numerous advantages. Its liquid formulation guarantees automated dosage using an installation specifically developed for the bakery industry.
Main benefits of Megapan®
- More efficient and precise dosing
Megapan® requires less labor than powder bread improver, reducing both the manpower needed in the bakery and the risk of failures.
- Very hygienic and safe
Megapan® is delivered in a closed system and is added directly to the dough. There is no dust formation. This improves food safety and bakery hygiene and helps in meeting the demands of HACCP systems and good manufacturing practice.
- Less waste
The container can be repeatedly used and recycled.
- Better quality of bread
The liquid formulation results in a more homogeneous distribution of the bread improver in the dough, and hence in an excellent bread quality.
- Better dosing possibilities
Megapan® will be delivered in a container, offering the possibility to dose manually, semi- or fully automatically. Integration with other automatic systems can easily be achieved, enabling the baker to operate a fully automated dough-making line.
Dosing installation for Megapan®

The installation consists of the following components:
- Two containers with a net content of 470 liters (1100 h x 790 w x 990 d) and an empty weight of 55 kg each. A special system (patent pending) allows for excellent manoeuvrability. The containers are connected to the dosing unit through a tube.
- A dosing unit allowing for either manual, semi-automated or fully automated dosing of bread improver. Special adaptations can be made to the dosing system, depending on the lay-out of the bakery and wishes of the baker.
Product characteristics
- Megapan® is a liquid bread improver based on a special combination of enzymes and ascorbic acid.
- Shelf-life: 3 months at ambient temp (25°C) or 6 months at 4°C.
